Mitchell Humphrey was founded in 1977 by Mitchell O. Humphrey. As a long-time professional in the public accounting world, Mitch was determined to design and provide an “accountants accounting system.” In 1980; the company’s first solution, FMS-80, was introduced. In 1993, the company followed up with the first release of it’s current Windows based client-server accounting solution called FMS II.
In 2002, Mitchell Humphrey acquired the rights to GovXcel; a full suite of Community Development solutions (Construction, Property, Zoning, Land Use, etc.) as a way to broaden our software offerings to regional and municipal governments. Now fully integrated into our FMS II software applications, this suite of solutions is now known as GSS (Government Software Solutions).
Today, Mitchell Humphrey’s employee-owners provide application software and services to well over 200 clients across North America. Our clients are a very diverse group of organizations which include state and local governments, educational institutions, not-for-profit entities, mid-sized businesses, and Fortune 500 corporations.
